The marking on the left side is “Preduzece 44” which is the Yugoslavian factory not the year.

The very first years after the war they were from surplus Mauser 98 actions along with surplus 1924 Yugoslavian parts and were known as model 24/47. After those parts ran out and the factory started production, they were called M48 rifles (likely because of the year). Since your says it is from the Preduzece 44 factory, it was made sometime after 1947/1948. If it is stamped M48, it was likely made between from 1950-1952. If it is stamped M48A, it was made after 1952. If it had no markings, it would be a M48-BO (“Bez Oznake” – meaning No Markings).

As production continued after 1952, more and more parts of the rifle were made of stampings instead of machined parts, to reduce cost.
