In the other thread (about your grips) you asked about Cerakote.
I’m still learning about Cerakote but as I understand it, an
oven is recommended (if not required) to properly cure it.
My 1911 is coated with Cerakote and I like the finish on it.
AGI has a video “Tactical Black Metal Finishing”. where it looks
like they are using Brownells ALUMA-HYDE. While it’s not as
durable as Cerakot it may be a lot more economical to use.
