Ruger Super Blackhawk Studded Barrel

Question

I just took in this 7 1/2″ .44, with all the ejector components missing. The only thing left, is the stud on the right side of the barrel. It appears the screw is broken off inside deep, with nothing to grab onto. Can the stud be removed, or does it need to be drilled out carefully? Or, due to the hard to find parts, convert it to a shorter, (non-studded) system? Or, even mill down the existing stud, and even install a longer housing right over the old stud, that is, if I can even get parts. Inquiring minds want to know, Ha!

Answer

Remove the screw remains then replace the screw and leave as is. Ken
