I purchased two 1911 Caspian frames and slides, and noticed that one of the feed ramps has a lot of machine marks. Would you experienced 1911 builders call Caspian. Or would you guys just try removing them with the dowel and sandpaper method. Any advice or thoughts well appreciated. 007
I have used a couple of Caspian 1911 frames. Have not seen a feed ramp that bad, but in other issues I was concerned with found Caspian to be very helpful, professional and customer driven. Give them a call and talk to them. As long as it was not a custom machined frame they may change it out for you. BTW, polishing the ramp is not that big of a deal. Get your barrel and slide all squared away, proper lock up and position, and have it. LR
Answer
Polish the ramp and then make the barrel work. If you screw up the frame ramp you can weld up the ramp….no safety issues with this procedure, but you would have to REALLY screw it up. Ken
