Can anyone tell me if the H & K model 300 .22 mag rifle bolt is supposed to lock back on the last round fired? It shoots great, but I would have thought the bolt would lock back when it is empty. I called H&K and talked to a customer service rep. He didn’t know, but told me that the man that does know is off today, but will see him tomorrow and find out my question and call me back with an answer. I have a feeling that this model does not lock back after the last shot is fired. Thanks again. Rusty
It may be possible to modify the magazine follower to hold back the bolt after firing the last round. But I wouldn’t recommend that as the surging bolt will eventually beat up the follower. If you ever want to go that route, you will need to beef up the follower so that it can take the constant beating. -TL

You should be able to take the gun apart and determine if there is a hold open device that is activated by an empty magazine or not.

I called H&K and got an answer. That model was not made to keep the bolt back on the last round fired. So, after tuning the manual lock back latch, it is working fine and shooting great. Customer is happy and that’s what counts. Rusty
