A customer brought in an 1187 with the gas block separated from the barrel. Is it recommended to re-attach this item? If so by what means. Otherwise will Remington do this repair? RB

I believe those are silver soldered on, the problem is Remington does this in a huge oven – we can’t do that. If you get it hot enough to silver solder it, you can affect the temper of the barrel. I’d call Remington and see what they say. Is the gun still in warranty? If it is, you should be packing the gun as you read this. DC
