Answer

How much cylinder gap does it have? -TL

Question Follow Up

Cylinder gap is .006 and you can rock the cylinder the same amount when it’s not jammed or jammed.

Answer

If you load the cylinder, and close it, is it difficult to turn? Is there a buildup on the cylinder face? What to the fired primers look like? DC

Question Follow Up

The cylinder turns fine primers all look good gun is spotless clean no build up it’s like something is shifting under recoil but everything looks good when side cover is removed.

Answer

Check the extractor rod and make sure it isn’t coming loose and backing out, this should only cause it to open and close hard not bind up the cylinder but check it anyway. Check the firing pin bushing and make sure it is flush with the breech face and not recessed. Make sure the distance between the recoil shield is more below the breech face than at the breech face. Check the barrel cylinder gap when the gun binds up and make sure you have a gap when it is bound up. Ken

Answer

I’ve had this same problem with some revolvers. Sometimes it could also be a tweaked crane and/or cylinder stop (worn parts) timing.

Answer

Is the cylinder binding in the same position every time? Once it binds, can you move all cases, fired and unfired, with a dental pick? Jack

Question Follow Up

The firing pin bushing is flush, the barrel cylinder gap stays the same at .006, the extractor rod is tight but I found a little play between the cylinder and yoke (more than a new unfired one I have for an NRA event in May) possible wear in extractor rod collar and gas ring or yoke itself. Numrich is sold out on the collar will check others in the a.m.

Answer

If endshake was taken out then there could be a high spot on the back of the crane/yoke where it contacts the inside of the cylinder so the cylinder may want to bind in one or two spots. Ken
