I have a Winchester 97 in for repair (broken right extractor). However, when I replaced the extractor, then cycle the gun a few times, the extractor works its way out. There is good spring tension on the extractor plunger. Anyone had this issue before? Ideas?
Make sure the plunger engages the extractor correctly and won’t allow it to work its way out of the bolt. You may have to increase the engagement of the plunger on the extractor. Make sure the angle is more positive as well. Ken

Thanks- it was an engagement issue- plunger needed some work. I just couldn’t see it at first. I appreciate the assist.
