HANDS ON CLASS
EXTRACTORS

During the DF&R Extractors class, students will learn DF&R of extractors, as extractors are the problem and/or the cure for 90% of all feeding issues with repeating firearms of virtually any design. You will learn the relationship of the extractor to the ejector of the different designs and will fit extractors to the various designs and fabricate a .22 extractor.

PREREQUISITE

Successful completion of the Handguns section of the course.

REQUIRED FIREARMS

If you do not have all the required guns, you can discuss what you do have with Ken prior to class to determine what to bring.

  • Ruger 10-22 or standard auto or Remington 870/1100
  • 1911
  • Glock
  • Mauser 98, 93, 96 or similar claw type extractor gun….Springfield 1903, Japanese Arisaka, 1917 Enfield are also acceptable. Also a Winchester model 70 with claw extractor or a Ruger M-77 Mk II series.
  • Marlin model 60 or 99 or Browning A-5
  • AR-15 or Howa 1500 or Weatherby Vanguard
  • Marlin 336
  • Savage 110 series or Browning A-bolt or Winchester 70 push feed

Not required but GREAT to have, bring if you can:

  • Browning Hi power
  • CZ-75
  • S&W M&P
  • S&W 39-59 series
  • Luger
  • Mauser Broomhandle
  • Ithica 37 or Browning BPS shotgun
  • Beretta 21A
  • Winchester 63 or Walther P-22
  • Springfield XD standard

  • Diamond Needle Files
  • American pattern File
  • 6” & 8” Bastard File
  • **4” or 6” Barrett File (Not required but might come in handy)
  • Any other files are a nice addition.
