Description
Prerequisite: Successful completion of the Handguns and Rifles sections of the course.
Students will be learning Troubleshooting and General Repair, as Troubleshooting and General Repair are the problem
and/or the cure for 90% of all feeding issues with repeating firearms of virtually
any design. They will be learning the relationship of the extractor to the ejector
of the different designs.
They will be fabricating a .22 extractor.
To provide a complete and thorough course, the students will be working on a
large variety of differently Troubleshooting and General Repair. Therefore, students will need to
bring a large number of firearms to include the following:
REQUIRED FIREARMS:
- 1911
- Remington 700
- Ruger 10-22 or a Ruger Standard
- Auto, or Marlin 60 series of .22
- Remington 870 or 1100
- Rifle with claw-type extractor, such as
a Mauser 98, Pre-64 Winchester
Model 70 or Model 70 Classic,
Springfield 1903, 1917 Enfield or
Arisaka, etc.REQUIRED TOOLS:
- Basic Tool Kit
ADDITIONAL TOOLS NEEDED:
- Diamond Needle Files
- American pattern File
- 6” & 8” Bastard File
- **4” or 6” Barrett File (Not required but
might come in handy)
- Note: Any other files will be a nice addition.
ADDITIONAL FIREARMS:
Note: The following are not required but would be
additional educational experience.
- S&W M& P series
- S&W 39-59 Series
- Browning High Power
- CZ-75 or CZ-52
- Luger P-08 or Mauser C-96 Broomhandle
